Many of the negative reviews are simply "It doesn't run", and unfortunately there is no way of knowing why this reviewer can't get it to run, and I bet most reviewers themselves have no clue why either, nor have idea how to articulate their problem.

There is a reason I chose the word SIMILIAR when speaking of the TPA DX11 engine requirements.

UNTIL a list of minimum requirements states that an INTEGRATED video solution is supported, well, YMMV.

There is no way ANY minimum requirement statement made by the devs is going to cover every possible iteration of PC component/driver/OS combination there is and are merely a GUIDELINE.

You are obviously NOT a software engineer.

I read it, and you parrot everything that has already been covered hundreds of times, while ignoring that the game (and ALL Steam games due to the refund policy) allow you to INSTALL and TRY it. I merely said FarSight has to better communicate what hardware is actually required to run SPA. It seems like you didn't read anything that was written simply so you could build a straw man to beat, but no-one said FarSight had so solve anyone's hardware issues. The really interesting thing here is that the developer seems to not understand the required specs to use their own program. All I had to do was lower the settings in the video config compared to how I would normally run it with a VIDEO CARD. Hence the comment that these minimum specs req are not clear enough, or not writen for the SPA engine.Īs you mentioned TPA and the DX11 engine, I just tested it with integrated video - guess what, it runs at 60FPS. However, as has been noted numerous times, this is not possible. This is a blatant misunderstanding of the issue.īased on the min req specs, as listed, SPA, like TPA DX 11, should be able to be run with integrated video. So why are so many people complaining? If it doesn't work, and you do NOT have the minimum hardware, YOU are required to remedy the problem, NOT Farsight.

The really interesting thing specifically with SPA is that it lets you TRY it for FREE. This same problem (with user base confusion regarding hardware requirements) is found among the boards of many other Steam available games, so it isn't a Farsight specific oversight of some sort, but one where people that think since they purchased a laptop that may have presented itself as being able to play "the latest games", that that somehow absolves them of doing any due diligence, and it is the fault of the developer that “game name” doesn’t work. The issue seems to mainly be with people who have assumed that since they could run Pinball Arcade (with the DX9 rendering engine) that they should then be able to run SPA.Įvery one of the requirement statements (even before SPA was released) specifically note that you NEED a VIDEO CARD, and are very specific about the minimum VIDEO CARD model/series from AMD/Nvidia required, not integrated, not equivalent, not Intel, not something you choose to read between the lines. These are similar requirements as the DX11 version of the original Pinball Arcade. It has been very clear since (even before) day one. It should have never been on the users to determine what was required to run this. A simple look at the forum here will show there is a lack of communication about this from day one. Originally posted by n3tizen:These really need to be clarified better.īased on the listed minimum requirements, people who have integrated graphics should be able to run SPA, but that is known to be not possible.Įither state clearly that SPA is being updated to support lower grade hardware, or tighten up the min req specs so as to make it clear what is absolutely required to run SPA.
